At least four hours before serving, place the vodka bottle in the coldest part of the freezer.

Chill two 2 oz shot glasses in the freezer for 30 minutes.

The opener
The vodka goes into the freezer the morning of. By the time guests arrive it is thick, almost syrupy, and the small glass it is poured into frosts over in the second it sits on the table. There is nothing to this drink except cold. That is the point.
